An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude hit Bangladesh and the neighboring state of Kolkata.

On Saturday Morning, December 2nd, 2023, at approximately 09:05 PM local time, an earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude was recorded in Bangladesh. As per the news, from the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake took place in the southeastern part of Bangladesh at a depth of 55 Km.

The tremors were felt in the neighboring state of Kolkata as well. The depth of the earthquake was reported to be 55 kilometers, and the epicenter was located near the India-Bangladesh border. There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Department of West Bengal Disaster Management Department said that no damage has been registered from anywhere in the Country.

Kolkata Police officials and Kolkata Municipal Corporation also said that there also not any damage to life or property.
