Veterans Day 2023: What’s open, what’s closed in the US

Veterans Day is a national holiday in the United States and is celebrated on November 11th every year. On this day, federal offices including post offices and most banks remain closed. Because of Veterans Day, some stores and restaurants may still be open, so it’s advisable to check with them before heading out. The day is observed to honor and show gratitude to all the brave men and women who have served in the military. It’s customary to have parades and ceremonies on Veterans Day as a mark of respect for their service and sacrifice.

Banking services

Some banks will be closed on that day, for example, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and TD Bank.

US Citibank said that it would be closed on Saturday, but they told customers to check the timings online as its hours vary by location, and as always customers can utilize ATM services on Veterans Day also.

Government Services

Government-related local services will be opened on that day but some services will be closed as well. For example, the New York Public Library and Atlanta, Georgia’s Fulton Country Library System.

Delivery Services

UPS will be generally operating on that day as usual dal. FedEx will close their Fodex Ground Economy and accept all other services will be open.

The United States Postal Services will be closed on Veterans Day with no mail delivery or retail services.

Retails Services

Retail-related services will be also open on that day Major Retailers, for example, Target, Walmart, Kroger, and other Grocery chains.
